I just decided to add to my collection list my Doors Strange Days Lp but i'm a little confused here. The Label is red with the big E and there's stereo on the left and the right sides of each label. Also on the label on the bottom it says Recording First Published October 1967 on one line. This copy also has the Matrix / Runout (Runout side A): EKS-74014A (AL-1)Matrix / Runout (Runout side B): EKS-74014B (AL-1) . The cover is exact as all the first pressings with no Title in the front. Basically this is exact to this listing with one difference, the label color is red instead of tan. I know it's from the 60's but not sure if it's a 1968 / 1969 pressing or a 1967 first run of the red label. My dad bought about 50 to 60 rock lp's in one shot from a record store in 1969. It was a grand opening of his friends record store so for support he went all out. Please, if anyone has an insight on this pressing, I would truly appreciate this. Thank You, Ted

I have recently purchased what appears to be this Canadian release of Strange Days, the labels are identical with same text, logos etc and the matrix/runouts match whats mentioned. There is no mention of Canada anywhere on the disc, inner sleeve or cover, in fact the cover mentions made in USA, has the US Elektra adress. Could this possibly be a US pressing not yet mentioned on discogs? Or mentioned incorrectly as a canadian press?

this might be a 1969 reissue pressed by Allentown Record Co. Inc. (Haven't seen the images) Check the ARC numbers in the runouts. they are very hard to read, but they are also important. This version isn't on discogs yet. Post it and we will help finding the right data. ciao losAntonis

Hi, Thank You for your help. This is a U.S. pressing, probably at the time they were just switching to the red label. All the numbers, labels and cover match this first pressing so i'm going to assume it's a first pressing. Even my dad told me that his friend opened the record store around may of 1969, so it cannot be a reissue. He did purchase all those records in that month. The Reissues were not out till approximately a year later. Thanks, Ted
shustrik
Release would be no later than 1983 as bought new no later than then .
