Our Earthly Pleasures is the second studio album by Newcastle-based alternative rock band Maxïmo Park. It was released on 2 April 2007 in the UK and 8 May 2007 in the US, being preceded by the single Our Velocity, released two weeks previously, on 19 March 2007. Album details, including track listing, were released on the NME's website on 22 January 2007. as well as the band's official web site. The album was leaked in various places across the internet in March 2007. Альбом 2007 Песен: 12. Maxïmo Park sounded so wound up and wiry on their debut, A Certain Trigger, it felt like the band might snap if they went any further in that direction on their next album. For Our Earthly Pleasures, the band recruited producer Gil Norton to fill out their sound while Norton has done great things with bands like the Pixies and Foo Fighters, his heavily layered production ends up weighing down the band's formerly nimble rock. Summary: Gil Norton produced this second album for the Paul Smith-fronted UK rock outfit, who debuted in 2005 with the Mercury Music Prize-nominated 'A Certain Trigger. Record Label: Warp. Review Summary: Our Earthly Pleasures is a dense record twelve tracks clock in at little more than forty-one minutes, but its a shattering listen from start to finish. Theres something genuinely beautiful about Geordies singing in harmony. Maybe its the novelty factor, the once-in-a-lifetime meeting on Tyneside of two people capable of holding a tune, I dont know. Yet its hard to put a check excessive thinking when faced with Our Earthly Pleasures, the follow-up to Maximo Parks acclaimed 2005 debut A Certain Trigger. Our Earthly Pleasures, in contrast to the water-tight radio punk of its predecessor, overflows with ideas, even if its to the detriment of the material. Our Earthly Pleasures, 2007. Girls Who Play Guitars, 03:12. Our Velocity, 03:20

So, is there going to be a 10th anniversary reissue like A Certain Trigger did? I was surprised Warp still cared a little about this band.
