Out of the Darkness As One. of the Darkness. Play album. Get album. There are three bands called As One. 1 As One is a Hong Kong-based pop Girl Group consisting of Shin, Oli, Nata, and Elfa. The current line-up are Shin , Nata, Kayan and Chloe. They made their debut in June of 2012. The group had released three smash hits, including Candy Ball, New Girl and 4Ever. The group also released k-pop songs and made their debut in Korea in 2015. Out of Darkness is the first studio album from In the Midst of Lions. Strike First Records released the album on May 26, 2009. Awarding the album three and a half stars from Jesus Freak Hideout, Scott Fryberger states, despite the album's brevity, the seven full songs definitely give the listener a good look into who they are, musically and lyrically. Chris W. giving the album four stars for Indie Vision Music, writes, One of the best praise and worship based metal releases available. This debut. His sixth As One album was initially set to be titled Into the Darkness, but a number of personal developments - the most important being the birth of his first child - led to a change of spirit. Consequently, Out of the Darkness includes none of the blue-faced breakbeat workouts that were streaked across his previous two albums. While it's instantly apparent that all of this is the work of Degiorgio and no one else, each and every track rides in on a beam of sunlight. I'm sorry to say that this is not one of my favorite Degiorgio moments. While "Hope" gives me hope right from the beginning with its infectious beat and bassline, the rest of the album fails to deliver that same kind of engaging sound. Some tracks like Leviathan and Shapechange don't really seem to go anywhere after the first few measures, and while I do like a lot of Kirk's broken beat stuff, I'm just not a big fan of the ones on here. The R&B stuff is certainly not my cup of tea either. I couldn't sit through the entirety of I Love You - perhaps the worst As One track yet. I will say that Out Of The Darkness has fantastic production and Kirk really knows how to work his machines and jump genres at the drop of hat. I just think his deep house and experimental jazz tracks are much better than these polished, almost radio-friendly R&B tracks. Also it's hard for me to get into this album when only one year later, Kirk would release what I consider the best As One album, Elegant Systems - a perfect example of techno, tech house and ambient that to me defines the original And One sound from back in the early 90s. Your mileage may vary with this one, but I say skip this one and head straight to Elegant Systems.

"I love you" is a very close remake of the Weldon Irvine original. Which is, undoubtly, a masterpiece of a song. I recommend you to listen to the 1976 "Sinbad" album.

The prolific Kirk Degiorgio once again showcases is seamless blend of Detroit jazz-soul and broken beats with OUT OF THE DARKNESS, his 2nd album for Ubiquity. The album kicks off with "Hope," which switches from broken beats to house so slickly, you'd swear it was butter. His angular melodies catch you off-guard, like on the title track, "The Daisy Picker," or the shifting melodies of "Shapechange." But he's equally adept at smooth melodic lines, as on the sweet and funky "Shed Dem," as with pure R&B (even if the track "I Love You" run on a tad longer than it should). "Sanctified" goes deep, mixing heavy tones with some spoken word, while "Love Theme From the Spook Who Sat by the Door" float by on ringing ambience. Degiorgio never fails to beguile.
