Текст песни: Mother Earth is pregnant for the third time For yall have knocked her up I have tasted the maggots in the mind of the universe I was not Brain is the third studio album by the American funk band Funkadelic, released by Westbound Records in July 1971. It was produced by band leader George Clinton and recorded at United Sound Systems in Detroit during late 1970 and early 1971. It was the final album recorded by the original Funkadelic lineup after its release, original members Tawl Ross, Billy Nelson, and Tiki Fulwood left the band for various reasons. Album 1971 10 Songs. Maggot Brain has a lot in common with contemporaneous works by Sly Stone and Jimi Hendrix, but Funkadelic wasnt a great black rock band, they were simply a great rock band. The album is celebratory, but crucially, it begins with the title track, nine mournful minutes given over entirely to guitarist Eddie Hazel, who wails at the heavens in a sublime and anguished expression of the human condition. Maggot Brain is the third studio album by the American Funk band Funkadelic, released in 1971 on Westbound Records. The album incorporates musical elements of Psychedelia, Rock, Gospel, and Soul music, with significant variation between each track. Maggot Brain Q&A. Funkadelic - Maggot Brain 1971. It starts with a crackle of feedback shooting from speaker to speaker and a voice intoning, Mother Earth is pregnant for the third time, for y'all have knocked her up. I have tasted the maggots of the mind of the universe. I was not offended. For I knew I had to rise above it all or drown in my own shit This could only have been utterly bizarre back in 1971 and it's no less so decades later though the Mothership was well on its way already, Maggot Brain really helped it take off. The instrumental title track is the key reason to listen, specifically for Eddie Hazel's lengthy, mind-melting solo. George Clinton famously told Hazel to play like your momma had just died, and the resulting evocation of melancholy and sorrow doesn't merely rival Jimi Hendrix's work, but arguably bests a lot of it

I have listened to several versions of this record. This particular pressing is amazing. The sound stage is wonderful, it's balanced, clean, warm, and sublime. If you see the "T" in the wild and it's in top nick, don't hesitate to grab it.
My version has T [inverted "2"] WB-2007-A GC in the side 1 runout, but on side 2 it has WB-2007-B-RE1. It seems like a combination of a couple different versions listed here.
